Oerlikon Systems awarded for its after sales support, product performance, and uptime
Pfäffikon SZ / Balzers, June 28, 2013 – Oerlikon Systems has been named “Best Supplier” in the 2013 VLSIresearch annual customer survey, which sets the benchmark in the semiconductor industry. The Oerlikon Business Unit won awards in three different survey categories: as “10 BEST for Focused Suppliers of Chip Making Equipment”, “THE BEST Suppliers of Silicon Wafer Fab Equipment”, and RANKED 1st in “Deposition Equipment”. “Being voted as one of the world’s best suppliers in the VLSIresearch customer satisfaction survey is a great honor – and a remarkable achievement for our team. We sincerely thank our customers for this important recognition”, says Andreas Dill, Head of the Oerlikon Systems Business Unit and CEO of the Advanced Technologies Segment.
The VLSIresearch “10 BEST” survey is widely recognized as a measure of product quality and company performance in the semiconductor industry. The survey, in which 147 equipment suppliers were evaluated this year, compiles customer satisfaction ratings in 15 categories including supplier performance, customer service, and equipment performance. Oerlikon Systems was specifically recognized for its after sales support, customer commitment, product performance, and uptime.
Consecutive winner
Oerlikon Systems rates in “THE BEST Suppliers of Silicon Wafer Fab Equipment” for the 5th consecutive year and a “10 BEST Focused Suppliers of Chip Making Equipment” for the 4th consecutive year. The latter category spans all sectors of the semiconductor capital equipment industry: wafer processing, assembly, packaging, and testing. For the first time this year Oerlikon was ranked #1 in “Deposition Equipment,” a highly competitive sector and category. “Congratulations to Oerlikon for a well-deserved award,” adds G. Dan Hutcheson, CEO at VLSIresearch: “Your customers voted Oerlikon to the top of our survey by repeating the impressive rankings of the past two years – a remarkable result!”
The latest VLSIresearch survey results also underscore the growth trends for the company: Oerlikon Systems is on track for another year of solid growth despite a highly cyclical semiconductor market. The company is also continuously increasing its footprint non-semiconductor applications such as LEDs and power devices. “The excellent results of the VLSIresearch study support our efforts to grow in new markets for which our nanotech equipment is now applicable”, says Segment CEO Andreas Dill.
