Oerlikon is expanding its aerospace capabilities in North America with the launch of a new cell dedicated to the manufacturing of honeycomb structures for use in turbines at its existing site in Querétaro, Mexico. This strategic investment supports the growing demand for high-temperature sealing solutions used in critical aerospace applications.

The new production cell complements Oerlikon’s existing coating expertise and reinforces the company’s commitment to delivering high-performance solutions to the aerospace industry. Operating independently from the existing PVD coating center, the new cell focuses exclusively on the production of aerospace-grade turbine honeycomb structures. Localized manufacturing enables faster lead times and closer collaboration with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
The turbine honeycomb manufacturing cell is operated with the support of Neomet, an Oerlikon company known for its decades of experience in advanced aerospace manufacturing. The cell utilizes state-of-the-art technologies to produce superalloy turbine honeycomb structures, particularly for turbine seals and other demanding environments.

All processes are supported by a comprehensive quality management system and advanced inspection protocols aligned with AS9100 standards. The facility is staffed by a dedicated team of engineers, operators, and quality specialists.
