BALIQ CRONOS Protecting your moulds even from aggressive filling materials through extra dense coating

BALIQ CRONOS - lower part of the charging cradle for a mobile phone

In order to achieve consistently high quality in plastic casting, many decisions in terms of the method used, component geometry and material selection are important. Using BALIQ® CRONOS surface coatings, the scratch resistance can be improved up to 4 times. At the same time demoulding gets significantly easier and residues on the surface are avoided.

As a result, the molds can be used much longer - without cleaning and polishing. Despite less effort, the quality of the casted parts is even improved by the smoothness of BALIQ® CRONOS.

  • Better demolding
  • Up to 4 times better scratch resistance
  • No post- polishing necessary

General remark All given data are approximate values, they depend on application, environment and test condition.
*Coating hardness HIT [GPa] Measured by nano indentation according to ISO 14577. For multilayers the hardness of the different layers varies. Hardness can be adapted to the application.
**Coefficient of friction (dry) vs. steel Determined by ball-on-disc test in dry condition with an Steel ball according to ASTM G99. During run-in the given values may be exceeded.
****Max. service temp. [°C] These are approximate values out of the field. Due to thermodynamic laws there is a dependency of pressure in application.
