Wrapping up three exciting days with the Additive Manufacturing community in Garching. On Wednesday, together with Siemens, the Technical University of Munich, Bayern Innovativ, and several Bavaria Makes members, we welcomed experts, leaders, and innovators to the Advanced Manufacturing Campus to kick off the Next Gen Manufacturing Congress. We showcased our capabilities and the power of collaboration between academia and industry through guided tours of our Innovation Hub and a dedicated exhibition.
This was followed by two days of in-depth discussions on recent developments and challenges facing the Additive Manufacturing industry in Germany. In an insightful panel featuring top executives from Siemens, MTU Aero Engines, Bosch, and EOS, our Executive Chairman, Süss, Michael, emphasized the importance of learning from the U.S. market—particularly in terms of speed and technology adoption—while also highlighting the need to build a robust local-for-local production model in Europe.
Oerlikon’s COO, Linzmeier, Dirk, shared valuable insights in a keynote presentation on how we’re transferring our Additive Manufacturing expertise from civil to defense applications.
It was a pleasure to contribute to this outstanding event, and we look forward to continuing to push boundaries.
