First new automatic texturing machine sold

Remscheid, June 20, 2011 – The first eAFK was sold even before the product launch of the new automatic Oerlikon Barmag texturing machine scheduled for this year’s ITMA in Barcelona.

480 positions of the new eAFK, with an annual capacity of approx. 1,400 tons, are being delivered to Sapona Manufacturing Company, NC, USA. With these, Sapona MFG will be texturing both nylon yarns in the 40- to 100-denier range and 50- to 150-denier polyester specialty yarns for use in various sectors of the textile industry. Assembly and commissioning are scheduled for the second half of 2012. The eAFK unites the proven technologies from the eFK, AFK and MPS series with the flexibility of a new modular machine structure. The automatic machine also caters to the market’s high quality requirements even in terms of standard products, as – very much in keeping with the “no-touch”-principle – there is absolutely no manual contact with the packages. Further, decisive reasons for Sapona’s purchase decision included the technological benefits offered by the machine, the company’s many years of experience with Oerlikon Barmag products and the onsite support provided by the Oerlikon Barmag Service organization.
