Sustainably dyed quality yarns

Even today, the average car has around 30 kilograms of textiles, according to the German Textile research board of trustees.

Interior

Yarns used used in seat upholstery, roof linings and door claddings are made of spun-dyed POY (Pre-oriented yarn) which further processed into air-textured yarn. The advantage of spun-dyed yarns is color fastness and a much more environmentally friendly dyeing process. The masterbatch is added as an additive already in the melt preparation area. Above all, this also produces an incomparably uniform dyeing result.

40 non-woven applications – an upward trend
In addition to filament yarn, all vehicles also have in excess of 35 square meters of textile fabrics. Above all, these include needled nonwovens made from staple fibers, which are used for roof lining, floor coverings, luggage compartment cladding, in molded parts for door and column claddings as well as in filter and insulating materials for the engine compartment. Carded nonwovens are used for sound insulation and surface design and as interlining and separating layers. To date, experts have identified a total of 40 applications – a number that is constantly growing.
