Chromium Free and Heat Treatable Hard facing

Metco 1030 (powder for cladding) and Metco 8224 (weld wire) are both chromium free and heat treatable hard facing products that provide a unique combination of impact and abrasion resistance that is critical to extending component lifetime in the mining and oil and gas industries. Chromium in hard facing alloys results in the release of highly carcinogenic hexavalent chromium (CrVI) during welding. Metco 1030 and Metco 8224 completely eliminate the emission of hexavalent chromium and outperforms chromium carbide and other hard facing materials.

Metco 1030 and Metco 8224 are the best hard facing materials for quenched and tempered steel. Coating deposits exhibit the highest level of wear resistance before and after heat treating. When compared to all other materials used for wear-resistant hard facing, Metco 1030 and Metco 8224 combine long component lifespans, low competitive cost and liability elimination from chromium emissions.

Impact Resistant Hard facing

Metco 1051 series (powder for cladding) and Metco 8225 (weld wire) are a notch above conventional, impact-resistant hard facing materials.  Metco 1051 and Metco 8225 coatings have the unique combination of impact and abrasion resistance that is critical to extending the component lifetime in the mining and oil and gas industries. Coating deposits of these products offer wear resistance similar to WC-Ni PTA overlays, but with drastically increased impact resistance that is up to 500 times better than WC and other conventional hard facing materials

Wear Resistant Hard facing

Metco 1030A is a wear-resistant weld hard facing wire material that provides an excellent impact and abrasion resistance on components used for mining and the oil and gas industries. Compared to WC-Ni PTA overlays, Metco 1030A has comparable wear resistance. However, a key benefit of Metco 1030A is the drastic increase in impact resistance that is up to 30 times better than WC and other conventional hard facing materials. When compared to all other materials used for wear-resistant hard facing Metco 1030A provides longer component lifespans at a competitive cost.

Manganese Steel Hard facing

Metco 1040 series (powder for cladding) and Metco 8250 (weld wire) are the only material solutions currently available for manganese steel hard facing. When applied to manganese steel and other austenitic substrates, Metco 1040 and Metco 8250 can be welded crack free more than 3 beads or 15 mm (0.6 in) thick allowing for the protection and repair of manganese steel in high impact and high wear applications.
