Continuous Polycondensation Plant Solutions

The efficient and high-end continuous polycondensation plants of our subsidiary company Oerlikon Barmag Huitong Engineering (OBHE) produce a homogenous melt using a chemical reaction which transfers different monomers into polymers.

Total Control over the entire process chain

During this process, side products such as water are created. A high-end melt like this is the basis for high-quality yarn used for fiber-grade and bottle-grade polyester.
The benefits of an in-house polycondensation system are clear to see: in addition to independence from external granulate manufacturers, short-term price fluctuations within the raw materials market an direct influence on polymer quality, it is - above all - the additional value added that promises further profits.

PAN-based High-performance Carbon Fiber

OBHE is committed to basic research of new materials, new technologies and new equipments, and development of engineering technologies, a whole set of high-performance carbon fiber has been launched successfully which can realize stable production of carbon fiber HT300 and HT700.

It can provide the technology of carbon fiber precursors based on acrylonitrile which production capacity can reach 5,000t/year.

This technology based on one-step production of round fiber from dimethyl sulfoxide which is named as green solvent medium.

Solution polymerization and one-step dry-wet spinning are adopted, in which DMSO is used as solvent.

The current technical route and key technologies of high-performance carbon fiber which is based on PAN have some advancement and renovation.
