We are working synergistically with Oerlikon on a common strategy and a concrete plan aimed at upgrading our sustainability performance. Real commitment means being aware of our responsibility towards the environment, people and society. This is why we have individuated three main pillars that guide our actions, enabling us to achieve the ambitious goals we have set ourselves and to strive for continuous improvement:
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
At Oerlikon, we affirm both the ideals and the necessities of each of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Given the nature of our business, processes and operations, we have a greater impact on certain SDGs compared to others. Based on where we can make the greatest difference, both in our practices and in our impact on the planet and its people, we have identified eight SDGs that we are working towards every day: Goal 3 (Good health and well-being), Goal 5 (Gender equality), Goal 7 (Affordable and clean energy), Goal 8 (Decent work and economic growth), Goal 9 (Industry, innovation and infrastructure), Goal 12 (Responsible consumption and production), Goal 13 (Climate action) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the goals).
