Materials

From the earliest stages of the accessory design, special attention is paid to the selection of the most suitable and high-performance materials. Thanks to a loyal relationship with a network of international suppliers and to the constant research for emerging and environmentally friendly products, Oerlikon Fineparts offers a wide selection of materials that includes:

Stainless steel

Characterized by its peculiar resistance to oxidation and corrosion and the lighter weight compared to brass (-6%), stainless steel is one of the most popular materials in the luxury accessories industry. The steel used by Oerlikon Fineparts companies is composed of at least 50% recycled material.

Brass

Malleable and durable, brass is used extensively in the world of accessories. From the brass bar to the finished part, all processes for this material take place directly within our facilities. The brass used for Oerlikon Fineparts components is made of at least 80% recycled material.

Zamak

The alloy composed of zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper is distinguished by its exceptional ductility, which makes it easily workable, and, at the same time, by its hardness and strength. This is why Zamak lends itself to manufacturing various types of items, from small technical components to buckles.

Aluminum

Its lightness, together with its special ductility and malleability, makes aluminum an attractive alternative to other materials traditionally used in this sector. It is also characterized by a high degree of recyclability and durability; indeed, it can be recycled indefinitely, reducing the need to extract new raw material, and it is extremely resistant to corrosion and weathering.

Oerlikon Fineparts' product range is complemented by an additional selection of materials to meet the most complex customization requirements:

Precious and semi-precious

Silver and bronze stand out, as elements that add further value to Oerlikon Fineparts' accessories and fashion jewels. We adhere to the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), which ensures that responsible mining and processing procedures are adopted throughout the entire production and distribution chain.

Stones and rhinestones

The experience in the industry and an established relationship with leading European manufacturers enable us to offer the widest choice of functional and aesthetic solutions.

Wood, resins and plastics

Processed through injection molding and machining centers, they represent yet another alternative within an already wide and varied product range.
