The guiding thread of the 2025 edition was the prevention of risks related to hazardous substances. The theme has drawn attention to the importance of always being prepared and knowing how to react correctly in critical situations. Interactive demonstrations were held alongside training activities, organized in collaboration with the Fire Brigade and with suppliers specializing in prevention services. Participants were able to attend live simulations and closely observe the correct behaviors to adopt in case of danger.

Each facility made an original contribution: in Fundão (Portugal), a drill was held that simulated a spill of chemical substances in the wastewater treatment plant; in Palazzolo (Brescia), employees, divided into teams, tested themselves in a series of exercises ranging from risk analysis and job duties to the identification of PPE and correct pictograms, finishing with the compilation of floor plans; in Mendrisio (Switzerland), the Firefighters, in addition to practical demonstrations showcasing the dangers related to hazardous substances, presented some interesting aspects of their daily work, including the different uniforms to be used based on intervention scenarios, and finally, opened the doors of their vehicle to our collaborators!

HSE Day 2025 thus reaffirmed the commitment of Oerlikon to placing the health and safety of its people first in all the facilities.
