With an extraordinary result that made the entire Oerlikon Riri and Oerlikon Fineparts team proud, our Quality System Manager, Federico Bollati, triumphed at the Veterans’ World Championships in épée, in the race for athletes over 40.
The competition, which held on November 12th in Manama, Bahrain, saw Federico achieve a series of victories with athletes of different nationalities (Canada, Taiwan, Russia, United Kingdom, United States, Poland) that led him to the final against the Swiss player Sebastien Amstutz where, after a well-balanced match, he claimed the prestigious gold medal with a score of 9-8.
Colleagues from Mendrisio followed every moment live, cheering him on with great enthusiasm.
In addition to the individual title, on November 14th, Federico also earned the bronze medal in the team event, completing a truly memorable week.
