Senior Project Manager M&A

As a Senior Project Manager M&A you will lead projects in Mergers and Acquisitions, Divestiture and Strategic Alliance for Oerlikon Group and its Segments. With your profound expertise you contribute to the strategy execution and you are a valued sparring partner to senior management.

Your responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead cross-border transactions (buy and sell side) with deal size varying from small cap to mid cap

  • Successful leadership of negotiations in smaller M&A transactions

  • Simultaneously manage multiple deals and transaction proposals with responsibility for full project budget, resources and time

  • Effective stakeholder management across cross-functional teams (internal and external advisors) and senior management teams of segment and Group

  • Financial analysis and structuring of M&A transactions as well as to promote novel deal structuring thinking within the team

  • Build relationships and maintain direct contacts with industrial partners, potential transaction parties, external advisors (investment, accounting, legal etc.).

  • Lead project management and preparation of relevant transaction documentation, (non)-binding offers, due diligence, SPA drafting and negotiation

  • Lead closing activities, and if needed post-closing (de-)integration activities

Your profile:

  • MBA and University degree with main subject in Finance, Mathematics or Engineering and a minimum of 5 years working experience

  • Strong buy and sell side experience preferably with a bulge bracket investment bank, will also consider candidates from other established M&A practices

  • Specific knowledge and actual leadership experience of M&A projects is a pre-requisite for this position

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and meet tight timelines is essential

  • Effective managerial experience in strategic, financial and quantitative analysis

  • Good knowledge in accounting, finance and key functional areas of business operations in general including a thorough understanding of the tax and legal frameworks

  • Fluency in English, any additional language (particularly German) is an advantage

  • Exceptional negotiation and leadership skills as well as engaging communication skills towards all stakeholders at all levels

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally, manage teams and supervise outside professionals

  • Hands-on, positive, pragmatic, flexible and results-driven person with a high level of energy
