Product Manager Plastics

Job Summary:

The Product Manager for Plastics will focus primarily on developing new business and applications where coatings for injection molding, compression molding and mold components are beneficial for the customer's cost saving efforts. The position is required to managage a small port folio existing key accounts as well as develop and train the sales team, production manager.  The territory will be the Southeastern part of the US but travel to other areas may be warrented..  This position is also responsible for generating sales leads as well as marketing and selling PVD coating services to OEMs, end-users, and manufacturers.   The Product Manager for Plastics will be required to provide a consultative selling approach by providing top to bottom solutions and consult with Customers and their agents as well as internal Engineers and TAMS, and Production to resolve any technical and commercial questions regarding tools arriving for treatment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Forecasting
Help develop and drive Key Strategic Initiatives
Market Data collection, Benchmarking
Customer relationship and some key acount managment
Continious training of TAM’s
Educational presentations along multiple levels of the customers organization
Industry association attendance/interaction

Minimum Skills Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering; equivalent experience may substitute

5 years of experience selling in a manufacturing or industrial industry specifically in the plastics industry

3+ years of experience with service or consultative sales approach required

Broad understanding of manufacturing processes from and users perspective – mold and die and plastics maufacturing

Experience working in the tooling or coatings industry preferred

Previous experience selling PVD coating and surface treatments preferred

Proficiency working with MS Office (i.e., Excel, Work, and PowerPoint) is required

Effective verbal /writing skills and strong presentation skills

Must be energetic, goals-driven, result-oriented, and high-energy to be effective in this role

Must be willing to travel overnight 50 to 60% of their time
