Project Manager Additive Manufacturing Institute & Research Coordinator (m/f)

We are looking for a Project Manager AM & Research Coordinator (m/f) based in Munich (Germany). The role is not only responsible for coordinating and managing the AM institute set-up in Munich but also for supporting negotiations with academic research institutes, international research partners, legal and administrative authorities as well as state institutions.



  • Finalize negotiations with TUM and other academic as well as industrial research partners
  • Develop with TUM, State of Bavaria and its institutions as well as industry partners the collocation and site concept in close alignment with Oerlikon AM Business Unit
  • Jointly elaboration of the institute with TUM and partners regarding scope, objectives, equipment and infrastructure in close collaboration Oerlikon AM Business Unit
  • Elaborate staffing concept for institute on agreed approach with TUM
  • Finalize the detailed plan of Collaboration and Organization of the institute based on the agreed frame work with TUM.
  • Further develop an AM institute profile


We expect

  • Education in mechanical engineering or natural/material sciences with a PhD (must) in manufacturing process technology ideally in AM
  • Minimum 3 year experience (industry or academia)
  • Additive Manufacturing metal production experience optional
  • Proven academic skills
  • Knowledgeable in German academic research processes (application, funding and cooperation)
  • Comfortable in an agile environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills at all levels inside and outside the organization
  • Superior listening skills and persuasive powers
  • Excellent English, German beneficial
  • Flexible to travel internationally
