The new Oerlikon Surface Solutions Segment has around 6,500 employees worldwide, operates over 145 service and production centers among some 150 sites, and was responsible for 53% of group sales in 2016.  The surface solution segment is divided into four business units, Tooling, Automotive, Aero and Energy and the newly formed Additive Manufacturing.  The Tooling (formerly Balzers) and Aero and Energy (formerly Metco) business units have been at the forefront of the development of pioneering coating technologies for decades.  The newest business unit, Oerlikon Additive Manufacturing, is an end to end Additive Manufacturing solutions provider, with powder production, design and applications engineering, printing solutions, and post processing solutions including heat treatment and coatings.  Oerlikon Additive Manufacturing has R&D Centers and Production Facilities in the US and EU.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strategy and sales plan for the business (AM components and materials) that achieves the company’s sales and profit goals.
  • Develop goals for the Industry segments and oversee the development of goals for each individual contributor.
  • Hire, evaluate and terminate (if required) sales personnel within the assigned industry or business unit.
  • Provide and or conduct the appropriate training to close skill gaps for team members.
  • Actively participate in the management of the Key Accounts.
  • Develop Key Account business plans.
  • Develop, manage and deliver Key Account performance reviews with each Key Account on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist in the negotiation of significant projects.
  • Support in documenting the sales process in CRM
  • Consult with customers on applications, recommending materials and services as necessary and help to develop new applications.
  • Support customers and provide assistance to drive cross-functional support
  • Perform administrative functions such as approving expense reports, approving credits and returns, approving quotations, developing and communicating sales forecasts, and mediating customer issues. 
  • Continually provide feedback from customers to appropriate team members, including competitive information and market pricing.
  • Attend trade shows as necessary.
  • Ability to coach/mentor and develop individual performance plans
  • Develop high-level relationships at Key Accounts
