New Drive Systems CEO to be located in India / North America to have new Country Representative
Pfäffikon SZ, Switzerland – November 20, 2012 – Oerlikon announces Heriberto Diarte as new CEO of the Drive Systems Segment. He joins Oerlikon from Alstom and will be located in Delhi. Gary Lehman, who led Drive Systems since 2010, has been appointed Oerlikon’s Group Country Representative for North America.
Heriberto Diarte (born 1967, dual Mexican and French national) joins Oerlikon on December 1. Mr. Diarte has held executive positions in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa and brings with him truly global business experience. He is currently Managing Director of Alstom Transport, a Paris based high-tech industrial company in the power generation & distribution and rail sectors. Mr. Diarte holds a MBA from Stanford University and a MPA from Harvard University.
The new Drive Systems Segment CEO will be located in Delhi. With two major production plants and more than 2 500 employees, India is already a key market for the Segment. Based on a clear growth strategy and planned investments, the importance of India to the Oerlikon Group will continue to increase. “With his international experience, Heriberto Diarte is well suited to push Drive Systems forward, especially in emerging markets like Asia”, said Group CEO Michael Buscher.
Gary Lehman joined Oerlikon Fairfield as President and CEO in 2003 and became CEO of the Drive Systems Segment in 2010. He successfully led the integration of the Graziano and Fairfield Business Units. “Gary made a substantial contribution to the successful turnaround and integration of the Drive Systems Segment”, said Group CEO Michael Buscher. “In this newly created role of Country Representative for North America, he will identify additional growth opportunities and position Oerlikon as one Group in the world’s leading economy.”
Chief Human Resources Officer Adrian Cojocaru will leave the company by year end. Adrian Cojocaru joined Oerlikon in 2010 and successfully built up the HR function across the Group. “We would like to acknowledge Adrian Cojocaru’s achievements and wish him all the best for the future”, said Group CEO Michael Buscher.
