Oerlikon Systems’ highest ratings achieved in “recommended supplier” and “uptime”
Pfäffikon SZ / Balzers, May 28, 2014 – Oerlikon Systems has been voted a “Best Supplier” in the 2014 VLSIresearch annual customer survey, a semiconductor industry benchmark. The Oerlikon Business Unit won awards in three survey categories: as “10 BEST for Focused Suppliers of Chip Making Equipment”, “THE BEST Suppliers of Fab Equipment”, and “RANKED 1st in Deposition Equipment”.
“You don’t repeat as a winner without constant improvement, so being named one of the world’s best suppliers in the VLSIresearch customer satisfaction survey is an honor for Oerlikon Systems,” says Andreas Dill, Head of the Oerlikon Systems Business Unit and CEO of the Advanced Technologies Segment. “This is a remarkable testament to our team’s efforts and the collaboration with our customers – my sincere thanks to all!”
Consistent winner
Oerlikon Systems rates in “THE BEST Suppliers of Fab Equipment” for the 6th consecutive year and a “10 BEST Focused Suppliers of Chip Making Equipment” for the 5th consecutive year. The latter category spans all sectors of the semiconductor capital equipment industry: wafer processing, assembly, packaging, and testing. For the second year in a row, Oerlikon was also ranked #1 in “Deposition Equipment,” a highly competitive sector and category.
“Congratulations to Oerlikon for a well-deserved award,” adds G. Dan Hutcheson, CEO at VLSIresearch: “Once again, your customers voted Oerlikon to the top of our survey by increasing their impressive ratings over the past three years – a remarkable result!”
The VLSIresearch survey results highlight a year that has seen challenging market conditions for the industry. As “Permanent internet connectivity” drives product evolution and unrelenting price pressure remains a key market characteristic, Oerlikon Systems has maintained its position in numerous semiconductor markets with focus on Advanced Packaging, LED’s and IGBT power devices, and non-semiconductor applications with innovative thin-film production solutions.
“Our excellent repeat performance in the VLSIresearch study confirms our strategy of growth in new markets through collaboration with our key customers – it’s a win-win for all of us,” says Segment CEO Andreas Dill.
For the 2014 results, VLSIresearch received feedback from over 95 % of the chip market; over 3 516 surveys were returned by participants from around the world, resulting in 55 918 total responses. They rated equipment suppliers among fifteen categories based on three key factors: supplier performance, customer service, and product performance. The annual VLSIresearch Customer Satisfaction Survey is the only publicly available opportunity for chip manufacturers to provide feedback on their suppliers. The '10 BEST' rankings award special recognition to suppliers that are highest rated by end-users.
