The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for driving quality improvement initiatives related to the supply of materials and products used in development, production and packaging. Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action to prevent supply chain disruptions. Provide support for new product introduction and development including technical benchmarking, compliance reviews and risk assessments. Perform internal/external audits and provide guidance and support to ensure audit findings are addressed using the 8D problem solving approach. Interface with sourcing, procurement, manufacturing and other engineering functions within the organization and with suppliers on resolving day to day quality related issues. Ensure effective containment and problem resolution of all non-conformances and coordinate the internal/external deviation process. Manage supplier quality program in the distribution center including, setup and maintenance of SAP inspection plans, lead time accuracy and material certification.

Responsibilities

 Take lead in collection, review, analysis, and trending of supplier quality indicators for monthly reviews.

 Initiate and communicate supplier corrective action and manage containment through closure.

 Develop the incoming receiving, stocking and inspection process to minimize the wait time for materials to be available to manufacturing.

 Achieve timely and effective responses to internal nonconformance plans and identifies trends for corrective action.

 Support Engineering and Manufacturing in driving improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain.

 Participate in Management of Change activities and flow down applicable requirements to suppliers.

 Conduct internal and external process audits.

 Support third party certification audits for AS9100 and ISO 9001.

 Maintain the Supplier Quality Requirements Manual and distribution.

 Evaluate supplier survey responses for adequacy and communicate evaluation results to Sourcing.

 Act as lead to the QA Technician and provides back-up duties including testing, calibration and certification.

 Report on the Critical to Quality surveillance program.

 Perform incoming inspection and certification of private label products procured for the Distribution Center.

 SAP QM maintenance and setup activities.

We expect

Experience in Quality Management Systems is preferred, with working knowledge of AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Experience interpreting charts, graphs, engineering specifications, manufacturing plans, and technical data sheets.

Experience in writing test plans, project plans, procedures and project schedules.

Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.

Team player, self-motivated and able to get results from a cross-functional team.

Bachelor’s degree preferred in chemistry or materials science (or equivalent) and 5 years (preferred) experience in engineering and/or quality.

Certified Quality Engineer and Lean Six Sigma Green or Black belt is an advantage.

Ability to use SAP, MS office Tools, Visio, Minitab and Project Management software.

Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control, 8D and FMEA.

Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to represent the company professionally and communicate clearly and confidently.
