Customer Service Representative (CSR)

The new Oerlikon Surface Solutions Segment has around 6,500 employees worldwide, operates over 145 service and production centers among some 150 sites, and was responsible for 53% of group sales in 2016.  The surface solution segment is divided into four business units, Tooling, Automotive, Aero and Energy and the newly formed Additive Manufacturing.  The Tooling (formerly Balzers) and Aero and Energy (formerly Metco) business units have been at the forefront of the development of pioneering coating technologies for decades.  The newest business unit, Oerlikon Additive Manufacturing, is an end to end Additive Manufacturing solutions provider, with powder production, design and applications engineering, printing solutions, and post processing solutions including heat treatment and coatings.  Oerlikon Additive Manufacturing has R&D Centers and Production Facilities in the US and EU.



  • Create and maintain customer data in SAP, such as creating customer masters, maintaining customer information, and documenting special customer requirements. 


  • Assist in obtaining necessary documentation from customers. 


  • Coordinate completion of customer surveys and other requests. 


  • Enter new orders in SAP. 


  • Support Program Managers in troubleshooting issues as orders are processed throughout the order management lifecycle.


  • Support quote/proposal efforts, contract review, order entry, order processing, order shipment and tracking as necessary.


  • Address customer complaints, take ownership of problems that arise and follow through to ensure that corrective action is taken.  Investigate root cause and long-term correction action when required. 


  • Work to improve systems, procedures and processes on a continual basis keeping the customer first.


  • Ensure adherence to export regulations.


  • Process invoices and credit card billings.


  • Work closely within the department and other functions to ensure efficient use of resources in support of sales and profitability goals.


  • Support weekly and monthly metric reporting and forecasting.


  • Perform other duties as required.


We expect

  • SAP experience required.


  • Knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel.


  • Ability to remain focused, positive and flexible in a fast-paced enviroment.


  • Solid interpersonal skills are required.


  • Ability to work in a team environment.
