Who is responsible for your personal data?

The legal entity responsible for the use of your personal data (so called “Data Controller”) depends on your relationship with us.

If you are a user of this website, the Data Controller is OC Oerlikon Management AG, Pfäffikon, Churerstrasse 120, 8808 Pfäffikon, Switzerland.

With whom do we share your personal data?

For the purposes mentioned in this Privacy Policy, your personal data is shared with the following categories of recipients:

  • Oerlikon group companies: Given the Global footprint of Oerlikon activity, organization and IT infrastructure, your personal data may be stored and accessed overseas for the purposes mentioned above. Oerlikon Information Technology (OIS), in Switzerland provides IT support for the day to day technical administration and management of this website. When you request information about products offered by one of our subsidiaries, your personal data may be shared with the concerned subsidiaries in order to properly answer your query.
  • Third party service providers: We employ third party service providers engaged by us to perform certain tasks and services on our behalf and under our instructions. We use external service providers to help us with the administration and management of this website, to host our data centers, to deliver electronic communications, to assist us in preventing fraud and ensuring the security of the website and compliance with applicable laws in particular export control, ITAR, and trade control laws and regulations. Any third-party provider has access only to the personal data needed to perform its specific services. These third parties have entered into data processing agreements with us to only use the personal data for the agreed outsourcing purpose, to protect your data, and not to sell such data to other third parties.
  • Social media platforms and tools: If you share the content of this website on social media and if you share your thoughts on our blog, your personal data may be seen by or shared with other users of the website, but only as required in connection with such functions.
  • Courts, regulators and Law enforcement: Your personal data may be disclosed when we have a litigation with you and when we are legally required to disclose such personal data to a court, regulator, competent law enforcement authority. Given the purposes mentioned in this Privacy Policy, and Oerlikon group’s global footprint and IT infrastructure, your personal data may be transferred to other countries (e.g. we rely in service providers to support our global operations, and when you request information about products offered by one of our subsidiaries located in a foreign country, your personal data may be shared to such subsidiaries in order to properly answer to your query), including whose data protection laws do not ensure an adequate level of data protection,. When your personal data is transferred overseas, we ensure that the international transfer is made in compliance with the applicable data protection law and that appropriate contractual terms are in place. Data transfers operated within the Oerlikon Group are covered and protected by the Oerlikon Intra Group Data Transfer and Processing Agreement (IGDTPA) based on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission.

For how long do we keep your data?

We will retain your personal data for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. Please indicate in your email the Oerlikon legal entity you are in contact with, the purpose and scope of your request or concern, your contact details. If we have any doubt about your identity, we reserve the right to ask a copy of an ID for security reasons.
