Founded in 1977, IMCO Carbide Tool is a renowned manufacturer of high-performance carbide cutting tools such as drills, end mills and reamers. IMCO and Oerlikon Balzers signed a contract to install an in-house coating centre in Perrysburg, OH, United States, in September 2016.

This in-house coating centre corresponds to both companies’ long-term strategy: to serve customers with the best technology and products. Oerlikon Balzers is aiming to expand its business in the United States Midwest market, continuing to be the technology leader in high-end PVD coating solutions. The new centre in Ohio means that the company now manages four in-house coating centres in the United States: the other three are located in Dover (also in Ohio), Alma and Tawas (both in Michigan). It also operates 13 coating centres at strategic locations across the United States so that it can be close to its customers.
