Gear Design Software

Thank you for your interest in Fairfield's gear design software. Fairfield developed the original version in 1968, and it has been revised and updated since that time. Currently, downloads are available for both DOS and Windows.

The Fairfield Gear Program provides engineers with the capability to do basic gear data and stress calculations for spur, helical, straight and spiral bevel gears. In addition, there is a Bearing and Shaft program that does basic calculations on bearing life for a two bearing shaft with one or more loads including gears, pulleys, wheels, etc. A pin measurement and tooth thickness calculator is also provided for those who want to convert a pin measurement to a tooth thickness or vice versa. The gear program is not intended to replace more powerful, commercially available gear programs, but as a free design tool for those doing gear and gearbox design. The program should be used as an aid in gear calculations. It performs the mathematics required to generate data necessary for the application and/or the manufacture of gears. Interpretation and use of the results is the responsibility of the user.

If you have any questions or problems with downloading or installing this software, please email us at software@fairfieldmfg.com.
