A central part of our educational programs, apprenticeship training has a long tradition at Oerlikon. Just last year at our training center in Balzers/Trübbach, the 1,200th apprentice received a diploma. And today, over 150 young people are gaining valuable technical and practical knowledge at Oerlikon facilities around the globe.

Oerlikon Vacuum
A well-kept secret: products made with the help of vacuum pumps surround us. Every CD and DVD, every light bulb, all semiconductor wafers, eyeglass lenses, the testing of the tiles on the Space Shuttle – all these are done under vacuum conditions created with our pumps. Even the hiss of a coffee package being opened betrays a vacuum, which prolongs shelf life by slowing the germination rate of bacteria.
